Did anyone else experience loss of connection yesterday and this morning. If not, could it e a failing router?
My snr was a steady 6 or just under. With the reconnections it has jumped to 6.9 with a loss of sync speed (more noticeable on the upstream).

Certainly my connection and a few others have shown no loss of connection, it loses connection for awhile I wonder if BT have anything to do with it?

There was nothing which might affect the Cornwall area (apart from a report re Newton Ferrers near Plymouth which apparently had been resolved?) and when I was reconnected last night I came here and was amazed to see that no one else had reported any problems. Then this morning I see there was another blip.
I will see how it goes today.

I agree it just maybe one of those unknown blips, but then again you've lost line quality.

There was no activity down at the cabinets when I went past but that doesn't rule out the exchange. There were certainly no problems with the phone. I will be turning the router off now until I return this afternoon and take it from there.
Thanks for your replies.

The connection seems to have returned to normal now after the router has had a little rest so I am hoping it was a local BT hiccup and nothing more  :fingers:

Since the problems at the weekend (my graph looked identical to Andrue's and Gary's) my connection has been very flaky. Here is today's graph

You can see there were problems last night. I turned the router off overnight but today the disconnections continued. I swapped the TP-Link WD-8960N for my non-wireless Netgear DG834v4 but it made no difference -during the disruptive period it wouldn't connect either.

So my question again is, has anyone else been similarly affected after the weekend's problems. It doesn't appear to be my router (unless both are dodgy and I wouldn't mind an excuse to get a new one!) so what else can be happening considering the similar problems I had earlier?

Okay, it's gone again just as I was trying to post this. RouterStats-Lite is showing intermittent data but the router isn't connecting to IDNet.
Just waiting for a window to post this.....

Thanks as usual

Hi Jane,

Its hard to make out whats going on with this as last 24hours we have not seen any disconnections or errors on the line. If the issue arises again I would suggest contacting us directly so we can run tests at the time to see if there is any problems that we can spot.

Kind regards

Thanks Simon. I agree totally that it needs to be caught in the act so to speak and I will certainly contact support directly should it happen again. It is stable for now but, as to be expected, DLM has kicked in and I have to wait now for it to normalise again. Saying that though the effect hasn't been too bad.

Thank you for replying. I was beginning to think everyone was out sunbathing  8-)

Nope. Some of us are daft enough to have just played 18 holes of golf. On the plus side I appear to have turned into Superman where my drives are concerned - I swear I hit one 300 yards. On the negative side - bloody hell it's hot. With the sweat pouring off me I've probably saved them the bother of watering the grass this afternoon :D

Simon

I agree with bloody hell it's hot!  The temperature in my car today read 40C, and that was with all the windows open!  :swoon:

It was 17c in my car yesterday the windows were closed, I had to turn the climate control up a couple of notches.  ;D

Climate control is a wonderful thing. My side is set cooler because I feel the heat more than Justina.   ;D
Damned, if you do damned if you don't
