Hi all,

I have just received a suspicious email from Ebay. Any advice appreciated.

"This email was sent automatically by eBay in response to your request to recover your password. This is done for your protection; only you, the recipient of this email can take the next step in the password recover process."

Further down, it says:-
This request was made from:
IP address: 115.49.104.157

Which appears to be somewhere in China!

I haven't clicked on the email link, I have logged in to my ebay account and checked that no activity has taken place and I have changed my password for a better one. Ebay don't make it simple to contact them via email, is there anything else I might need to do?

Delete the e-mail and take no action.  They are trying to steal your details most probably.   >:(

:iagree:  It's a typical phishing attempt.

Yep. Done that. Fingers crossed.

Just done a full virus scan as well, seems OK.

That's a very common phishing attempt which has been around for quite a few years. I've received myself a number of times even though I've never used eBay. You've done all the right things :)

Ebay used to have an email address you could send phishing ones to for them to check out - think it is spoof@ebay.com
