Suspicious Email from Ebay

Hi all,

I have just received a suspicious email from Ebay. Any advice appreciated.

"This email was sent automatically by eBay in response to your request to recover your password. This is done for your protection; only you, the recipient of this email can take the next step in the password recover process."

Further down, it says:-
This request was made from:
IP address: 115.49.104.157

Which appears to be somewhere in China!

I haven't clicked on the email link, I have logged in to my ebay account and checked that no activity has taken place and I have changed my password for a better one. Ebay don't make it simple to contact them via email, is there anything else I might need to do?

Delete the e-mail and take no action.  They are trying to steal your details most probably.

Yep. Done that. Fingers crossed.

Just done a full virus scan as well, seems OK.

That's a very common phishing attempt which has been around for quite a few years. I've received myself a number of times even though I've never used eBay. You've done all the right things

Ebay used to have an email address you could send phishing ones to for them to check out - think it is spoof@ebay.com
