MySpace Problem

I haven't been on here for ages so I hope a MySpace question is not frowned on but you were all so helpful in the past so I thought I would pick your brains.

On MySpace, (which I have with ulterior motives!) there is just one profile that when I click on, always takes me straight back to my desktop....it has always been like this. I know it is a prob my end as it works fine on my mums computer with my log in details.

It is sod's law as it is one of the best 'friend's' on there in a sea of mediocrity!

I would be so grateful for advice-it is truly driving me nuts!

Check for viruses and spyware (www.hitmanpro.nl is a good program to p00n your spyware problems, there is also a free nod32 beta online scanner for viruses)

I also recommend you clear all cookies etc. with www.ccleaner.com - Make a backup first

Thanks...I will try that over the weekend. However a few weeks ago I tried to clean everything up over a weekend, remove some progs etc and I ended up with juddering scrolling which I didn't know how to fix and ended up restoring back a couple of days! I used Spybot,  and Tune up among others.

Also, sounds daft but how to I back up my cookies? I've never had call to do it before!

I think that sounds likely-it is what I suspected but I don't know how to check as I don't know what it was referred to as if you see what I mean..also my boyfriend wad 'helping' quite a bit and I'm noyt sure what he did! IHow would i get that back or find out if it is gone in the first place?

I use Firefox...do have explorer but don't like it! I have tried reaching the MySpace profile with explorer too....I think.

Actually I told a lie...didn't mean to! I just tried on Explorer and could get into the profile so it's the browser but how to rectify/

Hi Kitty

You can check the graphics driver in Device Manager. Right-click 'My Computer', then Properties > Hardware > Device Manager. Double click on display adapters, then double click on the card and select drivers. You should see the card manufacturer listed and a date.

AFAIK, Firefox doesn't have a direct option to save cookies. However, the file is stored at:

C:\Documents and Settings\< user name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<alpha-numeric>.default\cookies.txt

Alternatively, pick up the FEBE extension, and this will back up the entire FF setup.

Make the backup, then clear the cache in FF and delete all cookies. See if that helps.
