Trevor

Hi all,
For the last week or so my bb speed has been getting progressively slower. It's now so bad that I cannot view any videos on youtube and web pages take 1 minute or more to load.
Today, I have run  speedtests, although I couldn't get any results from the BT speedtester. The link in the sticky here doesn't work for me, I get the "Oops! Google Chrome could not find test.speedtester.bt.com:50301" message. I managed to get through on diagnostics.bt.com but that failed and directed me to http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ where I got some stats that mean absolutely nothing.  :( I'm hoping that one of you good folk will be able to help.
The figures are:
                                 Test 1  Test 2  Test 3
Download Speed (Mbps)  0.10    0.10     0.07
Upload Speed (Mbps)      0.23    0.25     0.25
Ping Latency (ms)         98.63  102.25   59.50

I should add that I am connected to the router by ethernet cable and plugged into the test socket.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trevor

I've just done a test on thinkbroadband as I thought their results might help.
Here's their results:

We have tested the speed of the connection and have recorded an average download speed of:
0.14 Mbps

Thanks  :)

Hi Trevor, How are you connected to the Internet i.e. WiFi, Router Model , Connection type -adslmax etc. Can you post your router stats as well please.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply. My apologies for the delay in responding but I lost my connection completely and only just got back on.
I'm connecting using ethernet cable at present, whilst trying to sort things out. Normally I use wifi. My package is Home Lite (ADSL max) and my router is a TP_Link TD-W8960N
What stats do you need?

Kind regards

Steve

If you can get them, the downstream sync, noise margin and attenuation. Have you tried connecting via the test socket behind the faceplate on the master socket with a new filter?

Hi Steve,
Yes, I'm connected to the test socket and I've tried 2 other filters.
Could you tell me where I can find the other information you are asking for? Sorry!
Kind regards

Steve

I believe you can find them from the router menu ie Device Info > Statistics > xDSL

Thanks Steve. I've attached a screen grab.

Steve

If I interpret the figures correctly, your on a long line Att 63.5 ie 4.6km from the exchange. The usual sync on an ideal line would be around 2000kps your sync is 448 , the margin is elevated at 14.5 from an ideal 6

THere's also a high error count on the line.

If your on the test socket with new filters all I can suggest is that there is either a router fault or a line fault BTs side of the master socket.

Can you swap/ borrow another router? Plus I think you need to talk to support on Monday.
