Hoping the announcement will be on their site tomorrow, they are always quite interesting and its quite useful to know what I will be supporting.

Am still toying with the idea of getting a Mac Mini to plug into my telly so I can get used to using it as much as I use Windows.

Steve

The 5S will get the new A7 64 bit processor with the 'budget' 5C getting the A6.

I would have thought the new phones go on sale next Friday, with pre orders this Friday  giving people time to update older models, its normally the Friday of the week that Apple stores sell them, but I could be wrong. 64 bit processor too on 5S

Interested to see what Apple's idea of a budget price is  ;D

Was using my iPod 6G today and was thinking about getting some of those earpods.

Steve

I think your correct it will be next Friday the queues will form, I won't be joining them though. ....... Unless my wife is keen on an upgrade I'm very happy with my 4S and I think any future investment on my(our) behalf would involve the iPad

Considering on O2 refresh a HTC One 16GB is £600 they all seem to be catching up, Mitch.

I have a buyer for my 5 so will get the 5S hopefully. Skip the 6 get a 6S etc. I like the size of the screen on the 5. Since I have a iPad 4 that can wait till next year. New design this year is rumoured ,will let people find out the bugs and scratchy anodising, then get the next version.  ;)

Must be the aluminium casing.

I seem to remember paying a premium for it on my last PC.

Not the Nexus 4, it's available for £199 for the 16Gb version now.

Dont want a nexus 4 though  ;) Wife wants the HTC One. She may get an iPhone...if I can persuade her. Looks like 5S will have fingerprint sensor too.

I'm sticking to the 4S for now.  If the 5S had a significantly bigger screen, I might have considered it, but a processor upgrade and a better camera isn't enough for me to spend six and a half hundred quid on.  The new OS is the most interesting aspect, and I'll get that with the 4S for free.

I do like the HTC One, though.

I like the 5S for me I don't need a bigger screen, using a phone one handed in a wheelchair which is 5" wide is hard work and to easy to drop. That could mean my last iPhone as the current size is great for when I'm out and I use the iPad when at home. The camera to me is important as once again not lots of room in pockets for multiple devices, and the dual flash will be useful. The 4S is now just to small having had a 5 for a year. Since I have a buyer for the 5 at £450 I'm happy :)

Certainly I have come to rely on the 4s camera.

I've got the 4S and I have to say the camera is pretty poor, especially in lower light (not just low light). Not that I'd buy a phone for the camera as that would be idiotic, but I quite fancy this new iphone, unless something new comes out that is better than an iphone before November when I can upgrade. My main concern is sturdiness though, along with reliability. Currently the only rival is the S4 which isn't even close to being strong enough for my needs.

They're pretty much the same as the S4. Flimsy with large, easily breakable screens. I was having a tinker with one in work. I didn't get to see much of it, but there isn't a phone out there that's as sturdy as the iphone. I've learned my lessons in the past that having a smart looking phone that seems quite handy but doesn't last anywhere near as long. Spend more to get more :D

I haven't had a play with a 'real live' HTC One, but I did look at one in a shop while I was killing time before a meeting the other week, and it felt quite solid, and has the aluminium back, so it should be quite robust.  I guess any screen is vulnerable to damage, but I have to admit, my iPhone 4S has stood up to being dropped down the stairs, fallen underneath a car, and been absent mindedly kept in a pocket full of change, but there isn't a mark or scratch on it.  No case, either, as they prevent it from sitting in a car cradle.

I'll see if I can live with the iOS7 before making my final decision but I fear my love affair with my iPhone 4 is about to end in divorce ;D I have played extensively with an HTC One and I'm really taken with it.

Whilst I shan't be an early adopter, I too will wait and see, however regarding HTC we got though three in 18 months with various faults and that rightly or wrongly does not leave you with a warm feeling about buying another one. Our 3GS is still going strong over 4 years later.

Justinas HTC suffered awful signal problems, and died once when the motherboard when up the creek. I like the HTC One, but its Android, and I cannot guarantee the updates, 4.3 is out 4.4. is coming and unless you own a nexus chances are you will maybe get one update six months down the line and then maybe not to the latest version, also for me even though its a great handset HTC are not doing well which concerns me and the state Justina's came back in from repair was awful, and its just to big for one handed operation for me.

The camera of the 5 is good, low light is excellent, even though I have a Panasonic TZ-40 I generally have my phone on me so the new camera looks good, and the dual flash with white and warm tones could be interesting. I'll be ordering one on the 20th, no pre-order for the 5S but I can wait.
