I updated my iPad 2 and it went very smoothly, but I had major problems with iTunes and had to uninstall and it kept trying to reinstall the version I had deleted. After about two hours I got that sorted and all is well now. First impression of IOS 7, it's Apples version of Vista  >:D  Time will tell but I like learning curves so will get on with it.   ;D

I would agree the multi tasking feature is much better, it's obviously a radical change and takes you out of your comfort zone for awhile. I'm finding the keyboard on the iPad much more accurate for myself.
I noticed on the iPhone as well the keyboard was more accurate, the features that know where you go and can build up a idea of where you will be going is a bit spooky, that can be turned off though. Also teaching Siri how to say names properly is  a god send. You say (whatever name) is not said like that, and it asks you how to say it and remembers, very clever.

At the moment I'd say it's growing on me and I suspect iOS6 is going to look very dated very quickly. The compass is superb, a work of art. Not that I have a use for it but I might have to find one ;D The multitasking screen which I found by accident and assume is new is also really nice. I think it's going to be a lot better than many of the previews suggested.
You can also use the compass app as a spirit level  ::) The torch function is useful.

Well have done 2 iPhone 4s's and 1 iPad 4 took a bit of time but got there in the with no probs, set them to update went to bed got up early this am to finish off updates.

No probs to report so far, I like the new sleek look, haven't got around to all the features yet but very pleased so far.

Now waiting for Maverick for Macbook Pro if this is anything to go by I can't wait.

What's happened to swipe to delete?  I use that all the time to get rid of unwanted emails quickly.  Now it seems I have to Edit then Select, which is a convoluted way to do it.

So far, I hate it, and would never buy an Apple device with this OS on it.

The Calendar app is also sh*t.  It seems you can no longer have list view as your default, meaning more clicks to get where I want to be.  Another backwards step.  Also, how do you stop it displaying end times for appointments?

Oh, and I've used it for 10 minutes this morning and my battery is already down to 72%.  :(

Maybe not default, but:

In messages, if you swipe from right to left and hold it on the left, you get timestamps for each message.

I've only got an iPhone 4, didn't find the 4's, 5 and don't find 5c or 5s worth a £600+ upgrade at the moment, still going to wait for v6.

But iOS 7 is faster on my iPhone 4, battery life is terrible though, just like any other iOS updates  :(

Swipe to delete is still there, also go into location settings and turn off things you wont use, turn off parallax if its supported on your phone. Google iOS7 and all the changes it may help. You can have calendar as daily view list view (hit the search icon in calendar, hourly monthly or yearly. Also the thing has to recalibrate the battery too. iOS 7 is more CPU intensive, also your phone has less memory and processor power so it works a bit harder. Turn off background App refresh for apps you don't need. Just adjust it to how you want, same as any phone. People also seem to forget that you play with the thing more when new updates come out, I have 5 hours usage on mine since last night with 15 hours standby.

I wont update to the iPhone 6 but 6S its a better cycle I think as you get the bug fixes for hardware from the previous year. For me I may stick with the 5s ill order tomorrow due to size constraints.

Now that I've been using it for awhile I quite like it, certainly the iPad is a much slicker device with this OS than the last

The problem is, Gary, you can't adjust it to the way you want.   The facility to have skins / themes would be a great improvement, in my opinion.  That way I could get rid of all this blinding whiteness.  I know i can turn the brightness down, but that's beside the point.  So far, I have seen nothing but changes for changes sake, with no positive improvements.  If I could find a way back to iOS6, I'd be there like a shot.

Where are these Google and parallax settings you mentioned, Gary?  And what the hell is parallax anyway?   Sounds like something to help with the bowels.

You can go back to iOS6 if you want. You may have 6.1.3 already on your machine, if not you can download it

Thanks Steve.  I'll look into that tonight.  As it happens, I have just noticed one redeeming feature, and that is the bold text option, which does make some things easier to read.

I fear it may be too late to roll back to iOS6 using the method Steve provided, as I have already backed up and synced with iTunes a number of times, in order to get my music transferred across.  The reason that didn't work the first time was that I disconnected the phone from the computer, without realising tracks were still transferring.  :red:

I don't think parallax works on the 4S.

You can enhance contrast too, but I don't have an issue reading it as is I think thats my specs helping, maybe you need glasses too, Simon.   :nerd:

Joking aside, I do, Gary, and it's something I mean to get around to.  What I would have preferred is an option to have white on black, as that would have added definition and contrast.  The 'Invert Colours' option in Accessibly is good for text, but not for icons.  It even inverted my home screen wallpaper!
