Reinstating 'ignored/forgotten" WiFi networks

I accidentally told my iPad (IOS7) to 'ignore/forget' my work wifi network and now I can't login. No surprise since it's doing what it was told. My iPhone will login OK, so I'm using the right credentials.

How can I tell it to 'remember' the network so I can logon? I've already tried a reset (hold power+home button) but this didn't solve it. I doubt retrieving a backup will work since I've done a very recent backup.

Anyone have any suggestions? Otherwise it's a trip to the Genius Bar as the Apple forums don't seem much help.

How odd , if I do the same on my iPad iOS7 the forgotten network is reconnected after re inserting the password. Just a thought are you not seeing the network or is it failing to except the passphrase? If your not seeing it is the SSID hidden and needs to be input manually with the passphrase.

I suspect the genius answer will be connect to iTunes,backup and then reset and install clean iOS and then restore.

I can see the network in the list. Just when I try to connect all I get is a message, "unable to connect to UniNet" Can't think of any other reason other than I've accidentally told it to forget that network, since my iPhone connects OK.

Can't even get to a login page to try a password.

Have you specifically reset the network settings or does home and power do that as well? Quick look on Apple discussion gives a variety of solutions including clear and restore iOS , it would be good if you could reset the router but I guess fat chance of that.

That doesn't sound like it's been forgotten, but rather it has the incorrect password stored. If it's really been forgotten it should ask for the password again when you try and connect. Have you tried telling it to forget that network again ?

I've had problems with Safari and router passwords since iCloud Keychain, it does make you wonder what password it's actually sending , it might be worth doing as MisterW suggests after disabling iCloud Keychain.

ios7 seems to not like wifi passwords sometimes, try joining it again a few times with the correct password dont re-type it just press 'join' a few times, it should work then. (i had the same issue)

Not tried again but it might be worth a go. If I could delete it from the list it should find it again the next time it scans. I'm not in until this afternoon so I'll give it go then.

It's already disabled - in fact I never enabled it. TBH I don't like the idea of keychains being anywhere outside my control...... I use 1-Password or Password Wallet and copy/paste the passwords as necessary.

I agree I have a great memory for bizzare passwords so that does me, and they are all long and complicated, I do think we are all putting to much reliance on the 'cloud' look what happened to Adobe this year, once Apple/googles/Amazons cloud is hacked god forbid, and its more like when these days not if

Try resetting the Network settings

Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

I've got that on some websites in FF. The first page has the wrong password, but the correct one is remembered for the "oops wrong pass/forgotten pass" page.

I was hoping to avoid that as it means having to reset all my accounts and passwords. Unfortunately despite a lot of faffing around I was forced to reset Network Settings and am now able to login. And I still don't know for certain what caused the problem in the first place.
