Earlier this year Sky bought the O2 and BE branded broadband businesses from Telefonica. Since then Sky have decided to switch off the old Telefonica network completely which means that all our customers currently on an LLU connection will have to have their service migrated to another network. After reviewing the market we have decided that BT Wholesale offers the best solution for most of our customers and so we will be migrating those LLU conections over to the BT network. If anyone specifically wants to stay on an LLU service then please contact us as we will be able to offer another LLU option in the near future, but we are not sure which one at present.

It's a shame Sky have decided to do this - I loved my LLU (should have got a bumper sticker  ;)). I had great connectivity over the few years I was on it - typically being able to squeeze a little more out of the line from experience. Perhaps this was because there were matched vendor chips (Broadcom) in my router and the line card, or perhaps because there was no DLM, who knows. It was also nice to be able to tweak the profile, which support were able to do instantly over the phone. If a similar LLU option with the same or better quality of service comes up in the near future I'd certainly be interested in giving it a try.

If you can get fibre I would go for that, Baz.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

I can Gary..its just the cost at the moment and the package im on now with IDNet is better than what they offer for fibre.

You dont need to stay with IDNet, zen do great deals on fibre, Also the extra bandwidth in a busy house means no slow downs, I would never go back to adsl or LLU now I have it.
