I am unable to open a shopping order confirmation from OCADO when using webmail. Is there anything in webmail that I need to change?

On trying to open the email, which appears to also have a .ics file associated with it, I get this message when using firefox:-
Usage: get_horde_icalendar.sh SRCDIR Please enter a valid source directory of the Horde lib

When using IE, I get "the website has a programming error"

I think that this is some kind of calendar file, am I correct to assume that roundcube doesn't support it?

It downloads to my pop3 mailbox, with no problems.

Steve

No idea about Roundcube but does it need a plug in to import the ics file. In theory Outlook should import ics files.

Steve,

Roundcube is the basis for Idnet's webmail, yes?  I think that you might be right about the plug-in though. I guess the plug-in needs to be installed on the mail server.

I guess Idnet webmail just doesn't support it. It seems daft that you can't even read the email though in your browser.

Like I said, it's fine if I down load it via pop and opens in Windows Live Mail just fine. Shows a .ics file as being there, but just ignores it.

Steve

Dirty word, Google calendar should be able to import the ics file

I also use Ocado and it is an ics file which is supposed to pop your scheduled delivery time into your calendar.  It didn't work on iOS 7 for a while, but I've had no problem with it for several months.  Have you got the latest Firefox version?  I believe it's on 26 now.  ::)

Simon,

Yes, I have v26.  It's not the ics file that is an issue, it's the fact that idnet's webmail (well at least mine) won't open the email that has the .ics file associated with it. So when using idnet's webmail interface, I cannot read the the email at all. I'm not bothered if the .ics file doesn't work, but it would be nice to at least be able to read the confirmation of my order which is in standard email format.

I have no problem using webmail for any other emails, just the order confirmation from Ocado which has this .ics file associated with it.

I guess, it'll just have to wait until I fire up my home pc and use pop3 to download my mails.

Simon

Privacy issues notwithstanding, would you be happy to forward the unopened email to IDNet?  If I recall correctly, it doesn't contain any personal information, only what you've purchased.   :-\

Can't do that this time as I've already downloaded it and deleted it from the mail server.

Will try to remember to do it next time.

Update:-  OK. So now I don't know what was happening yesterday, as I have just forwarded the offending email to myself and logged on to idnet webmail to find that it opens with no problem at all !! Grrrrrrrrr.

Shall we just scrub this posting!

Hi Sparky,

if you can advise of your email address, we can check this for you if the email still exists in your mailbox so we can run some tests via webmail for you.

Brian,

Many Thanks, but it now seems to be OK. I don't know what was happening on Monday, I tried two different web browsers on two different PC's and I couldn't open the email in webmail. Maybe there was some corruption in the emails that I had from Ocado on Monday, but all now seems to be OK.

If I get any repeat problems I'll do as you suggest. Many Thanks.
