What is wrong with Canon?

I have a Canon Selphy CP780 photo printer and Canon have not issued a driver for Windows 8.1 yet. As far as I can see they have not issued one for any of the Selphy range, what are they trying to tell me?

This is a lovely little printer and works to quite a high standard but now I can only print straight from a memory card.   :eyebrow:

Perhaps they don't like Windows 8

Will the driver for 7 not install?

Perhaps they are trying to say 'buy another printer, Den, you know you want to'  >:D

Do you take a lot of selfies?  ;D

The driver for 7 will not install but the driver for Vista will. But the Vista driver will not let me print and the printer goes to busy and locks out. Canon should get their act together as it seems that none of the Selphy printers are supported and mine is only two years old.

Probably best to go back to Windows 7 then, it's still a modern OS or replace the printer. In terms of functionality Windows 8 has not a lot further to offer unless of course your using a touchscreen. Mind you these days it's often cheaper to replace a printer once the original cartridges are empty.

Windows 8.1 is a completely different beast to Windows 7, faster and much safer. This Selphy printer is the only thing I have had a problem with and all my other Canon products are supported. The Canon Selphy range use colour cassettes as opposed to cartridges and is great for printing small pictures.

Bit of hassle, but could you maybe run a windows 7 vm to use the printer?

I'm surprised it cannot print in a compatibility mode/driver?
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Could always whinge at Canon and am surprised as have an older Canon LIDE 90 scanner and I think they produced a driver for it.

Maybe the Selphy didn't sell well because it was well, too self absorbed  ;D

Have you tried this, Den? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_lLhCqLEzQ
"Have you tried these wonderful combinations of the Cannon printer and Windows 8." Do I sense a touch of sarcasm?
