Ofcom is overstating the progress Britain is making on broadband speeds, according to the managing director of a fibre broadband firm.

Dana Tobak, the MD of Hyperoptic - a company that installs gigabit fibre lines into apartment blocks and businesses - disputed Ofcom's claims earlier this week that Britain has the best broadband in Europe.

"It's very easy to just put out a number saying average speeds are 'x', but how does it actually apply to people's experiences?," Tobak told PC Pro. "If you're on ADSL, speeds aren't going up."

"I think it's valuable that there are places that are being exposed to faster speeds of broadband, but I just feel like inherently it's overstating the progress that we're making."

Yeah, I did not read the report but found it very strange we were getting such high score. But in all honesty, I'm only good with 2 year old or more stats, so no idea if things have swung around for the better since?
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.
