So, out of nowhere appears a Windows 7 update KB2952664.

"This update helps Microsoft make improvements to the current operating system in order to ease the upgrade experience to the latest version of Windows."

Ha! As if I'm ever going to upgrade to Windows 8.1!

Not only do you get an Operating System but you get loads of free apps that can be fun and useful, especially if your eyesight is getting poorer.
