Can't reach a US site

I get "Server unexpectedly dropped the connection", but I know from some users in the States that it's running.

Occasionally it will partially load... I'll see if it's sorted itself out tomorrow and call support if it hasn't.

Thanks all, I think it's DNS-related in some way... I can access parts of the site by IP address but not by url, but using OpenDNS doesn't help either.

All I have to do is work out what's gone belly up

If I move the computer's ethernet lead from one router port to a different one I can reach the site... once. Trying to reload it fails.

Disconnect the wired and connect using WiFi, same, I can connect once.

Back to wired, same again.

Time to dig out the spare router I think... but it will have to wait until tomorrow when a program on another computer has finished.

Could it be the router iptables, Bill? How long has the router been up, is it on latest firmware etc sometimes a reset sorts these issues out.

I've discovered how to regain connectivity- turn off IPv6 on my router!

It's the only dual-stack site I'm having a problem with, the IPv6-check sites I've used give me a clean bill of health so I reckon it's their fault. And for the moment at least, I'm staying on IPv6.

I was in the process of posting a message on their support forum when the notification of your post arrived

Seems they've got a known problem with some people being unable to connect to some of their sites- can't be 100% sure it's related but it's a hell of a coincidence if it isn't!

It's being looked in to, can't ask for more than that.

Sorry Bill long road trip today , Safari on the iPad will connect to the home page but any subsequent pages it complains that the network connection has been lost

IPv6 is enabled but I've not yet tried turning it off.

The iPad on 3G seems to be able to browse as it should.

Having just fired up the Laptop with IPv6 confirmed as working I get a lot further with FireFox than I do with safari. It's bit sluggish but I can browse the website. The connection via FF is IPv4, likewise disabling IPv6 on the laptop ,Safari is then ok

I tried Firefox on a Linux box (ie it will use IPv6 if available) and got no further than Safari (and Chrome) on OS X... it may also be something to do with the way OS X handles dual-stack sites; it should prefer IPv6 but it just chooses whichever looks fastest. It may be making a mixture of calls within a site causing the server to trip over its own feet.

Anyway, at this time in the evening I don't really care, it can wait until tomorrow
