I can't remember if it was instant or applied on the next month?

My brothers going to eat through a lot more, as he has no restraint on youtube (unless I pull the plug, and I'm tempted!  ;D ), so will need to upgrade for this month, but did not think to put it through last week for this month.

As far as I'm aware it's available from whenever you want it.

It is as Steve says send a email to support and they will add it, and its available straight away once you get your reply. I just went over mine this month, really hope idnet have some tariff changes up their sleeves before my year is up.  :-\

I've been thinking the same thing.  I know someone on the 25Gb product but with the grandchildren visiting and spending increasing amounts of time on YouTube and Minecraft, 25Gb looks pitifully small.  Zen offer double (50Gb) for the same price and that's looking increasingly tempting for them, let alone the all you can eat brigade such as TalkTalk and BT.

I was 3gb under, so ok. But projected is 250+... I normally vary between 40-70. :P
So I'll have to tell him to kirb the Twitch streams and hope he comes in under 200gb.

PS, Tacitus, it's £17 line rental, so actually works out more expensive for me (I get 100gb for the same price as their 50gb). So swings and roundabouts it seems. (In all honesty, no one can do anything to change the price of Openreach bandwidth...)

I think performance during the world cup will also be a decider too. I hope it all works out as I am quite happy here, its just £35 for 100GB  prices me high when i could do with £35 for 200GB. Time will tell, it would be nice not to have to clock watch but also I don't really want to have to move when things are ticking along nicely and IDNet are making improvements, like the much clearer and simpler (I think) home page we have now on the main site. I really like how its laid out.

They're with BT for phone and pay some £15/month for line rental.  They don't really want to go with a long contract so either iDNet or Zen are the most appealing.  They are heavy phone users though so unlimited phone time, or something like Zen's 5000 minutes would be a must.

Still, it would be worth them looking at further options with iDNet for combined phone and broadband.

Yeah, I've confused myself enough with insurances. When there is £2-3 in it, I'll keep all my linerental/BB with the same company. So as said, it works out cheaper as a package with IDNet for me. :)

I'm not as heavy a user as you but my usage is beginning to tick up especially since I've start using iPlayer a lot,  and I'm now getting to the point where I'm regularly approaching the limit.  Fortunately I'm on one of the old peak/off-peak tariffs so have some flexibility, but iDNet's current bandwidth allowances are beginning to look a bit meagre, certainly compared to Zen whose customer service is comparable.
