highlighted links sent to a friends computer not being highlighted in blue (he's on outlook express).
Settings on his OE appreciated please.

Use something thats currently supported? OE stopped being updated when IE 6 was superseded and with XP has been dropped from support,  its so old now it may just not be up to the job.

OE may be out of date, but I don't see why links shouldn't still work.  Have a look here:

Sounds stupid, but make sure it is actually being sent as a hyperlink in the first place. I've seen situations before where the blue underlined formatting is retained, but the hyperlink itself has been stripped out.
