Is anyone having problems with access to the Idnet website?
I can't seem to open it or access the mail servers either, trying to convert my Idnet email addresses to IMAP.  ???

Safari's just given me some nonsense when trying to login but FF has worked ok and webmail is accessible.

No problems here with either Safari or Firefox.  Webmail is also OK

I think it could have had something to do with MBAM Pro that I use on this PC, as soon as I shut that down I could get the IDnet website Ok and my Idnet mail again, very strange!  :-\

It also seems to have stuffed up my MS Outlook installation as well, I've had to do a repair reinstall on it.

The new version of MBAM Premium is a little rocky.  Sometimes it works fine, but can sometimes appear to throttle a connection for no reason.

Yes it does seem a bit flaky at the moment, Simon, it looks like it corrupted my Outlook profile, I've had to go back to a restore point from 3 days ago to get it working again.  :( Which means all the time I spent yesterday afternoon converting all my mail account to Imap was wasted, in the process of doing them all again now!  :shake: Bl**dy computers!

I can't get in either.  Just wanted to check my usage as we are using a lot of iPlayer at the moment.  I don't use the e-mail as it seems a bit unreliable for some reason.   :dunno:

It's up and running for me. It might have something to do with the 512K capacity problem. Cisco seems to think it might take a week or two before everyone rolls out the fix.

Ah right!  That might explain it.

Ray

It's down again for me, I've changed from the Idnet DNS servers to OpenDNS to see if that's the problem - made no difference, whatever the cause is it also seems to take out the mail servers as well. >:( :(

Strange thing is I can access the site via 3G on my mobile.  ???

I can get in this morning too.  I've used 80% of my peak allowance so I may tip over to paying extra if the iPlayer continues to be utilised.  I've tried looking to see what the charges are but they are nowhere obvious.  Is it £5 a Gb?

Ray

It's just started working again for me.  :)

£1 per Gb over and above,

That's not bad is it?  A TV programme seems to use up 1Gb so that's quite affordable.   8-)

Simon

... If you can find anything worth watching.

The forum was unavailable again for me just now, for about 2-3 minutes.  ::)

I'm confused!     The package I have is ADSL lite which gives me 10 Gb peak plus 30 Gb off peak.  Is that the same as the Enterprise Lite which gives 25Gb peak for the same price?

Simon

You're still on one of the old packages, Clive.  The difference is that the 25Gb on Enterprise Lite is not split peak / off peak, so, whereas you currently have 40Gb split, but can only use 30Gb of it off peak, with the new package, you'd get 25Gb to use whenever you like.  :)

That's a much better deal as I rarely use any off peak.  It's disappointing that they didn't inform me of the new package but I'll phone them up to change to 25Gb.   :thumb:  Thanks Simon!

Simon

The 'new' packages have been in place for at least a year, since the new website appeared.  I think there is an announcement somewhere, but you may have been on holiday and missed it.  ;D

You don't actually need to phone them to upgrade.  You can do this via your customer portal by clicking 'Upgrade Package' under the Broadband heading.  There will be a Comments box where you can put 'Package upgrade only', just for clarity.

They are planning to refresh the packages again this Autumn.  :)

OK, I'll take a look at that first but no doubt I'll end up phoning someone.   ;D  Gosh, I've already taxed the car online today and switched energy packages.  Changing my internet package may be too much for one day!

Simon

Changing energy suppliers is something I should be looking at too.

I've got to change my car insurance next week. I dread to think how much of a hassle that's going to be :'(

I stayed with LV for both cars this year as they came out cheapest on the comparison sites.  It's the first time I've rolled over insurance in decades!
