I'm fairly sure this is genuine, it's also pretty impressive.

Its also all just marketing, its not like the glass of the iPhone 4 and 5 and 5S was easily scratched is it? Grollia glass was good enough and is. I have a Tag Heur watch and thats got crustal glass and that scratched :slap:

Each year like with TV's they have to bring out a hook to make people buy more junk as the next must have as the market declines. I hope my 5s makes it to four years as I cannot see a reason to need anything else I need in a phone. screen size, yes I can see that would be  deal to some, but I use my iPhone as a phone mostly and a reminder for appointments and visits (clear is a great app) and the 4" screen does that fine. Also the 6s will have all the bugs ironed out of it the 6 will have with its new display new aerials etc etc (the iPhone5 had a defective power button fixed in the 5s), Also a bit like the uneven backlight and book spine effects the iPad air has, my old iPad 4 has a much nicer screen having put it side by side, colour temp is more even, and its brighter because Apple cut down on the number of LED's to slim up the 'Air' The same will probably happen with the iPhone 6.

I have reached that point in life where the tech I have has to have the the least amount of b*llshite to make it seem appealing because it lacks something the older units had that companies like Apple will actually charge you more for! Apple are full of it. Applecare you used to be able to buy that at any time during your phones, Macs or ipads life, now its within thirty days. How long has Apple taken to catch yo to a 4.7" screen? Christ Android had them years ago, and I'm sure Apple will make it out to be the best thing since the last best thing with Jonathan Ive looking about as sincere as a Bernard Madoff. Also each generation of software and hardware gets buggier and has more issues it seems, Apple have spread themselves to thin and iOS the iPhone, and OS X and the Mac have really suffered for it.

Well it's free marketing for sure but I disagree that Gorilla glass is good enough. It may be scratch proof but judging by the number of phones my daughter's friends get through, it's certainly not shatter proof.

I'm still fairly happy with my iPhone 4 but I've had to replace one of the internal speakers and the home button is now not very responsive. I use my phone for so many different reasons for at least an hour or two everyday and I'm definitely in the market for an upgrade to either a 5s or 6. Aside from a couple of recent firmware issues, I've been very happy with the 4. I'm also happy with the two iPad Air devices we own. I've seen pictures of the 'book spine' effect but luckily neither of our devices suffer from that issue.

I suppose it comes down to personal preference, you certainly pay a premium price for Apple technology but for me at least, I find it provides very good value and generally works in a way that really suits me. Oh, except for iTunes of course, which is the devil's spawn ;D

It is a bit of a worry that there may well be 'issues' with the 6, as seems to be something of an Apple tradition with new hardware designs.  I definitely think I'll wait for some reviews before taking the plunge.

I think it's a bit early to say there may be issues with the 6, as far as I know they are not even in production yet.

True, I was just going on previous 'pre-S' releases.  Hopefully they've learned from those mistakes.

Sapphire glass is not the be all and end all at all. It shatters on drop easier than gorilla glass, and is less transparent unless treated specially, its basically a marketing ploy http://www.engadget.com/2014/07/11/sapphire-displays/

I have to say almost everything quoted in that article sounds like sour grapes.

Quote"The sapphire is too hard to withstand bending," said a representative of a top-tier phone maker who also asked to remain anonymous.

If the numerous videos on the Internet are to be believed I can understand why he wants to remain anonymous, he's wrong. I'll wait until the handset is up for sale before I make a decision on it, it may not even use that glass.
