It's fine for watching videos as it turns out, but my broadband speed seems to slow down when it's tackling a podcast. (These are usually via the BBC or audioboo.) Looking at the desktop as it does this, it seems to be trying to download two at a time though only one finally appears. Thoughts? Ideas? Solutions?

Downstream: 3069kb   Noise: 30

Upstream: 828kb          Noise: 13

I'm assuming adsl2+ , if your downstream noise margin is correct i.e. 30 . Your downstream sync I think has being limited. why? Noise/interference or fault on your line causing it to re sync. Assuming your router is ok I would check with support.

The Internet in general seems intermittently very slow to me at the moment. It may have nothing to do with your issue but it wouldn't surprise me if we are still being effected by 512K router limit problem.

At a rough guess, I'd imagine that BT might have looked at my broadband activity before it got fixed recently and thought, we'd best limit that. But I'll ring support tomorrow. (It is ADSL+2.) Thanks.

It's been reset now by IDNet and at the moment it's running like a whippet. It's not been tested with a podcast yet mind, but that's for later. The difference in general speed in noticeable though.

Hopefully it will stay that way otherwise you'll have to dig deeper and look for possible issues your side of the master socket.
