Hi guys,

I'm just about to phone Pipex (soon to become Tipex) for my MAC key, and have been searching for a new ISP.  I thought I had found IDNet to be ideal, as I especially wanted an ISP that provides multiple 'sensible' email addresses, rather than the usual 'anything@this.that.theother.etc.etc'.  The one and only thing that's currently slammed the brakes on, is the lack of webspace.  This is essential to me, as I already have a number of files uploaded onto my existing Pipex webspace, which would need to be moved to my new ISP.  Is there ANY chance in the future of you guys providing webspace with your broadband packages?   I have to say, you are in a minority, not doing so, but I guess you make up for it in other ways.

Best Wishes,

Simon.

Hi Simon

Welcome to the forum. :)

I know that the provision of web space is under consideration, but I don't know whether it will be introduced at any time soon. Have you considered using a hosting service? I do this for mail as it means that my email addresses don't have to change if I move ISP.

Hi Rik, thanks for your response.

Yeah, a lot of people have also suggested using a hosting service, but this is only for a few pics, etc, and it seems a bit wasteful to pay extra for a hosting service, when other ISPs include it in the price.  I have to say, this is the only thing that's stopping me joining IDNet, but if it's possibly in the pipeline, maybe I could work round it somehow.

Thanks,

Simon.

Hi Simon

Have you thought about using a service like PhotoBucket?

Hi Rik,

Yes, that does seem like one possible alternative.

I've just found out that I'm contracted to Pipex until the end of August, so to avoid paying their cancellation fees, I will have to put everything on hold until then anyway.
