Baz

just received an email apparently from me to me on my idnet account with a subject line  as     Your account has been Iimited untiI we hear from you

then further down saying noticed unusal charges on a credit card linked to my account and I have to log in to apple to correct the mistake.

:o :o :o    i'm off to do that now

Any one else had one. worrying point is it used my own email address to send it...

on looking again the first part of the link to activate my account seems a legit site but when trying more of it it gets flagged as forgery.

I've had nothing unusual, but nothing surprises me these days in relation to spammer tricks.  If you're concerned, change your email password.  :)

I'd guestimate 95% of the email I get now is spam. Actually, make that 96%. Joe Bonamassa accounting for at least another 1% since I signed up to down load his sampler :eyebrow: I've become quite adept to being able to filter it all out without having to read it but mail I've certainly had the kind of email you are describing Baz.

Bonamassa is a bugger for spam, but you can unsubscribe.  I always use a 'temporary' email address when signing up for that sort of thing:

I'm might consider that approach. Up until now I've always routed everything through one email address which I change when the spam gets too much.

I use BTInternet for my mail account  :red: and have always received spam mail from myself offering viagra or telling me my credit card has been compromised.  Apparently it's very easy to spoof an e-mail in that way.

You can't trust anything in the content of an email.  The format was designed back when the Internet just connected universities.
