They always seem to come in clumps. We're in a between phase atm.

I think it's the only tie I have nowadays - I'm not strong on self-strangulation unless I must. ;)

Back to Viewsonic v Eizo.

I've been doing some work on the other machine this afternoon, which has a Viewsonic 20" professional TFT (non widescreen). It's a perfectly good monitor, which I've used happily for three years, but after a week with the Eizo, it looks very flat now. Amazing how quickly we adjust...

Yes, even after using my laptop for an evening, my desktop PC monitor looks very square afterwards!

Though my fingers seem to adjust more easily between keyboards - odd...

OK, so I do still prefer a full-sized k/b.

Closure on this. I notice that Scan have refunded my card for the full price of the Viewsonic, despite a fall in price from when I purchased. Nice one! :)

Good result Rik. If only they were all that easy!

Indeed. Still, at least we can share our experiences here, and that might just start to have an impact on the bad guys.

Just an update on this:

Having used the Eizo for six weeks now, I have to say that it is the best monitor I have ever owned. Very easy on the eye with superb colour reproduction, the nearest thing to 'what you see on screen is what you get out of the printer'. It has some nice touches, like a pre-set to dim the screen in low light, and is superb at tonal gradation. The new theme looks brilliant on it, but the subtlety is lost on my Viewsonic or laptop.

Expensive, but if you can afford an Eizo, get one - you won't be disappointed.

well if you did that you could be doing well on the stats  :P

Ann

I've just read some of this old thread although not all of it I have to admit.. and I just want to say that my samsung has got one bright pixel.. it's orange and I've got quite attached to it.  I don't often see it but when I do I smile and say a little "hi".  I'd call a little difference rather than a deficiency.  :bbeye:

Some 'dead' pixels are actually caused by a deposit, piece of dust etc, on the front of the screen, Ann, so it would be worth checking for that.

Bat

Hi,
+1 for Eizo. I got a S/H 18" L661 from ebay a long time ago. Excellent bit of kit :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)
