I'm having issues with a WD Caviar Black HDD. This used to be my system drive but I upgraded to an SSD a while ago.
I'm now using the black drive for data so I removed Windows but it retained the 100mb partition that W7 created when I installed it.
In the interests of housekeeping I wanted to delete the partition and extend the main partition to maximise the disc volume.
So, using Disc Management in Windows 7 I deleted the partition and tried to extend the bigger volume to occupy the unallocated space. I've done this loads of times in the past without issue but this time its warning me that it will result in the disc being a "Dynamic Disc". When I just want a simple volume.
I tried using EaseUS Partition Master but it doesn't recognise the unallocated space, only showing one volume on the drive.
Its only 100mb so really not the end of the world as we know it but these things really bug me and I'd just like to tidy things up a bit.
Any ideas anybody?

OK, sorted it.
I created a new volume in the unallocated space but instead of the default simple volume I made it a primary volume. Then I could extend adjacent partition to include it using EaseUS Partition Master.
Job done. Thanks nowster for taking the time to respond.
