Just recieved the lastest issue of ComputerActive mag and read with interest the article regarding fixing various Windows 10 problems.
In particular the item on "What happens to my Windows 7 license" which would make interesting reading for those W7 users amongst us who will be considering making the jump (in a few months time...).
Its (fairly) well documented that once you make the transition (I hesitate to use the term "upgrade" just yet..) to Windows 10 you have 30 days during which you can roll back the OS to the previous, and I assume you would effectively revert to the original version of Windows 7 along with its activated license key.
However, I was under the impression that if you made an ISO copy of your W7 installation before changing to W10 you'd have the option of reinstalling W7 from your image any time after the 30 days honeymoon period.
But to quote CA mag, which in turn quotes Point 15 of the W7 license "After you upgrade you may no longer use the software you upgraded from" This means that you can't go back to Windows 7.
But to add to the confusion the article goes on to say that Point 4b of the W10 license states that the license allows you to "transfer the software to another device that belongs to you" ??? ??? ??? ???
Is that clear to anybody at all? I'll try and get clarification and post here if/when I do.
