Web Hosting

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to buy some web space for personal use. I've dealt with a number of cheap webhosts in the past, and they've all been pretty cr*p... surely there must be a good, reasonably priced web host out there!?

If any of you guys could give me some recommendations based on experience that'd be great! any help would be much appreciated

Have you looked at 1&1, Dave. Don't go in for webspace, so I have no idea what they're like, but the email hosting has been OK in the main, though they did have a bad couple of weeks at the beginning of the year.

Hey Rik, I've just been reading about 1&1 'n they seem to get good press - I might take a punt on these...

I kinda think in this price range all of these companies are much of a much-ness... managed hosting is where it's at, but it costs a fortune!

Have you tried www.purplecloud.com ? I've found them very good so far.

I've used www.siteground.com for the past 18 months, I'm just about to renew for a further year if that tells you anything.

haha, rackspace is totally out of the question, we have a client @ work who use them... 6k a year is slightly out of my price range

I think I'm gonna plump for 1&1 - I'll let you guys know how it goes... cheers for all of your input!
