How do I stop the icons, which I like to arrange for convenience  on my screen stay in position when I reload please? Should be easy, but I cannot see how.
TIA

Thanks colirv, done that it has no effect.  I have Align to grid and show ticked, that is all.

Well this is also recent that mine have started to move, mind you it is a plus, as observed here, that at my age at least something moves!  :(

Having done a more extensive Google it seems that Eset anti virus is the villain of the piece, and to stop it you need to remove Eset then do a clean boot of Windows 10 then abandon Eset. The alternative is a rather complex amendment to registry. As I  have recently purchased a years subscription to Eset and am nervous making registry changes neither of these  solutions are practical. So I will have to suck it up unless Eset come up with a solution.

FWIW now that all our computers are on Windows 10 I've decided to ditch commercial anti-virus programs and stick to Windows Defender, which by all accounts is currently pretty good. I also run CryptoPrevent.

Good news! I have been in contact with Eset and they are in the process of evaluating an amendment to cure the problem. They expect the finished version to be out within the week. They did not specify that it would put Windows 10 right, we can only hope so. ;D

Eset assure me that it will correct the problem in windows 10 as well as preventing it reoccurring.
