New Packages / Broken RSS

"An email will be with you from 1pm today explaining the changes."

None received here on Nov 1st. Not even a rejected delivery attempt. I've checked the mail server logs.

Also, the RSS feed is showing as

"Query failed : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)"

Odd.  I know several people who have had them.
