My PPP session dropped around 4:30 this afternoon.  After rebooting both PC and router, I called IDNet to see if anything was going on, and apparently there is an issue with part of the BT network, which is affecting customers countrywide.

In case anyone might be remotely interested, my connection came back around 10pm last night.

Talking to oneself is the first sign of madness Simon.     I went past that stage years ago.

Mine stayed up, but I'm using Zens backhaul though IDNet. Maybe its part of the issue effecting some ISP routers which use TR064/TR069 to update firmware. BT's routers and modems use the same protocol but hopefully they are not as woeful as talk talk and the Post Office. Looks like Talk Talk users may have had passwords stolen http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-38208958

Not sure if BT users are vulnerable (probably patched) but they do use the same protocol to update routers remotely, so glad I don't use the either big a ISP, or nasty ISP routers where they seem to have mope control than you.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't
