According to the IDNet Customer Dashboard a few weeks ago my Mailbox Usage stood at 98% of my quota of 100MB. I promptly deleted many old emails and was then astonished to find the usage had risen to 99%.

With various other problems to think about I did nothing until today when I find my usage stands at 102% of quota.

I don't understand what all this means. My password strength is deemed to be OK and I would judge my use of IDNet email to be light, perhaps an average of one a day just for friends and family. When does the quota start and finish? What happens if I go way over – do I get cut off?

Did you check all your email folders, Dud?  There may be lots of old emails in the Sent folder, and I can't quite remember if emails are fully deleted immediately, or whether they go into a Deleted folder, which may then need emptying.

I had similar due to 1 email with a large attachment, and the recycle bin actually being full of stuff. :P
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Just did some more deleting and usage has gone down to 36%. Must have had something big lurking in there! I'll try to remember to check more often. Still don't know what happens if you inadvertantly go way over....

Thanks to you both.

Most new email Apps all now seem to be imap only, eg the W10 Mail App.

I know these are only simple mail apps and there are alternatives but simple mail app is all my wife needs as it links in  nicely to the People app etc. (personally I don't and wouldn't use it).

Is there any way to increase our 100mb limit, even at a small cost?
