Hey

Do you think IDNET will ever change this "Peak times are 9:00am to midnight" to something less maybe 9 till 7 or just scrapping it all together, I'm all ready watching the bandwidth meter and feel a little uncomfortable with it, i'm not a big download junky so would never use my full 60 gig per month, my normal would be 30 - 40 gig but i find 15 gig between 9 - 12 very restrictive for me, prime time surfing for our family is 10am till about 11pm, would hardly ever be up surfing and using the majority of my bandwidth after midnight, think i may have to move on as i feel to restricted which is a shame  :(

could end up costing more money if i go over the 15 GIG per month even though i have not used my 60 gigs, bit daft.

Could you not move over to the £24.99 Home max package which gives 30gig. And then, even if you went up to 40gig it would still be £34.99 so no more than you pay now.

The slight issue is that you will no longer be on the Max Premium service, although I doubt you would notice very much difference at all. Also, bear in mind because it is a change of BT package, it will incur a fee to change.

As to whether or not they might change the hours, who knows! The purpose of the off peak is for people who schedule large downloads to run in that time.

Presumably IDNet's choice of the time during which heavier use of bandwidth should be discouraged is simply a reflection of when people would otherwise prefer to use their connection. In other words, people's habits drive what is and isn't peak time more than they reflect it.

I think you're right, Colin. The peak times have been set to reflect when IDNet have observed the heaviest traffic.
