Thanks for the heads up! I hope it is as good as the past editions of MOH!

Gives me something to see how good the gaming performance on my new laptop is too!

not sure 'gaming' and 'laptop' should appear in the same sentence Lance  :D

Thanks for the info.  Most likely on my list of games to buy :)

Looking at theforums, there has been some issues with the demo not running.  Have you tried it yet?  I will download it tonight and try to have a go.

But if I were to say Alienware, they could!

Unfortunatly, mines not an Alienware laptop, it is however a high spec HP laptop. It'll give me a chance to see how high spec! :)

Zimmer,

I've not tried it yet (some of us youngsters still work!!!) but will probably get round to at least downloading it tonight!

Does anyone know what the recommended/minimum specs are for running it?

Ok just played through it and i must admit i havent played a MoH for a long time but this feels really nice and im impressed, you can land where you want within the map i.e roof tops, court yards etc and its a hard fight sometimes so using cover is really need. Duck system seems to work well but you cant move when aiming with ironsights.

Well worth downloading and theres plently of playing time in the demo aswell.

Amd 4200+ dual core
2 gig ram
8800gtx
1280x1024 resolution

40-60fps on full settings

Agreed.  I downloaded it last night, ( it took about 2 hours or so).  Worth the effort.  Nice graphics and with a bit of tweeking for controls, nicely playable.

Definatley one to buy I think.

Loving the experience upgrades on the guns!!!

I may actually get this MOH as it seems a lot more team based unlike the stupidly designed single man heroic missions on previous MOH

Scottyboy

single player looks ok. Still suffers from the endless supply of AI enemy untill you advance past certain points. But multiplayer looks awesome. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/23347.html

From what I see there I get a sense of the raw fun experienced in original MOH series.

stevie0573

It sure is looking good for multiplayer from that footage (loosening the CoD grip). I like the endless enemys simply because it keep pressure on you to move forwards but if you play it smart the holding back can give you weapon upgrades alittle quicker :)

I have always like the ww2 genre but i think how this game is i think it will breath some much needed life into it.

Agreed Stevie.  The multiplay looks really good.  I'm looking forward to this :)

Its out today.  Any reports peeps?

a few guys from our community had it yesterday and reports were positive about potential of Multiplayer. Not that impressed with single player.

But EA have as usual neglected to offer good support to the multiplayer community by not providing dedicated server support. Patch pending. In order to run a dedicated server you need the full game all 9gb of it on the system.

stevie0573

Been playing it just on single player at the moment and just taking my time as i hear its short but im liking it alot and love the nimagen map.

Had some minor issues with performance and could do with a patch but over all its good i have even heard guys screaming in a burning tank  >:D

This is what I posted on my clans webby...

Well I bought it and tried it on-line, (eventually) for about an hour last night.

Graphically, its superb but I think you would need a high spec PC to really do it justice. The maps are about the same size as large CoD2 maps and have lots of detail with all of the buildings opened up.

This is because as Allies, you parachute down onto the map and can stear to land at any point on the map, Roofs, plant cover even inside buildings through broken roofs are all acessable. There is a facility to "flare" your landing so you can hit the ground fighting. If you dont, you "botch" your landing and it takes a second or two to recover making you vulnerable. Axis can, (and do) shoot at the landing parachutists.

There are three game types atm. TDM, TDMA, ( where you pick a landing spot) and Objective or OA, which is a hybrid of CTF where you capture and hold three different flag points on the map, again, parachuting in as Allies.

PunkBuster is available and selectable.

The maps are familiar;

The Hunt: Destroyed Village: Remegan: All these are much more opened up to what we would know. In Remegan for instance, you can get up in the clock tower and also onto all the roofs and into all the rooms.

There are a couple of others, one I played looked like the scene from Band of Brothers ate the radar station.  The others I didnt play.

There are downsides though. The number of servers is small and look to be locally hosted atm. There are a number of problems in joining and reading the forums, already, a patch is iminent. Annoyingly, I had to disable my Antivirus before I could join a server. You should be able to create a rule though to allow access. Joining servers does seem to ba a bit of a lottery though/

The total number of players per server is only 12. Again, this should most likely change in time. Though, in some respects 12 makes for an interesting game. No use for most clans though.

You can't currently change you player name, This is stupid and EA havent done their homework here and you play under your account name, (you have to create an account name before you go on-line) Its not currently possible to change your players name. Again though, this should be fixed at some point.

Its different to CoD2 but similar too in a lot of respects and I would say, well worth a look if you liked the old MoHAA games, at least until the new CoD comes out

I'd give it 8/10.

Very good reviews guys and i think the hit the nail on the head.

This is some footage i took of the nijmegen campaign http://youtube.com/watch?v=_A9tcY2O7v4 my favorite map so far.

How do you do the trigger thingy with the sniper rifle btw? I just cannot get it to work...this is pc btw and i have no idea lol

Scottyboy

trigger thingy? I take it you mean hold your breath? You have to press space.

I just bought this today. So far. It looks nice, plays pretty well. Getting a tad bored on single player though.

I had a shot online and Im quite enjoying it. Once they sort out the dedicated server problem then could be good fun.

zimmerframe

Yes, a few reported problems for on-line playing.  ( EA have not doen their homework too well).  A patch is due very soon that should start to addrees some of the problems.

Lots of info can be found here.  http://forum.eagames.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=8&sid=5ec0b904a6bc5b367ef85e0e6b0bd104

They are more than problems!! And they havent even considered MP with any degree of seriousness at all.

At the moment the planned patch has rumoured to be delayed a week from the initially quorted 17th september and the requirements listed for dedicated game server in this patch is: -

EA Games Account. Minimum spec to match the game requirements.

What server company in the world will be providing machines with top of the range gfx cards in them just to host a server? And log in to an account for runnig a game server?

I am no longer holding my breath for a quick fix. EA have once again shown their ineptude at developing a decent solution to the online community. It is clear their company direction is to support console gaming and to just squeeze what dosh they can out of the PC community.

If thats true then the game is doomed before it even gets off the ground.  On-line any way...

Tis all over the place if you ask me. We can only hope that they have just not really thought through the facts on this readme and that true dedicated server support will be launched.
