I'm getting a send and receive error in Outlook and a 'Problem loading page' error in webmail.

In addition the post above took somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes to land. I'm starting to wonder if this is a return of the issue I had a few days ago.

I had a couple of Service Status RSS messages at about 5am and 7am saying no service on "Incoming (POP/IMAP/Webmail)", no mention of outgoing but everything seems OK now...

Thanks Bill. I think someone gave the server a kick around 9.00am.

We are getting send errors currently -- various mail clients and OSes, so sounds like a server issue.

ThePinkRat

For us the SMTP server was unreachable for about 12-24 hours (hard to be precise). But the strange thing was that we could connect to it from outside of IDnet (e.g. mobile phone) but not when connecting via IDnet. When we tethered devices to the phone all was good. Support were their usual responsive selves (thanks for that; one of the reasoms for choosing a decent ISP). It now appears to be resolved.

Typo

IDNet have enabled email notification of voicemail, which is helpful.

zappaDPJ

The email server is currently asking for my login details but then fails to authenticate. Just checking to see if this is the same for everyone.

Mine is syncing and I can send and receive.

Yet again I can't connect to IDNet's email server by Outlook or webmail. Anyone else?

In fact even their website is down, verified by Down for Everyone or Just Me.

It's OK for me now, and emails seem to be syncing.  I'm out at the moment so on Sky 4G.

It's back up for me as is the main site.

Yesterday some of the Microsoft services I depend on were down for most of the day, last night the Internet went down and now this. It's actually costing me money as well as lost time :rant2:

Did the mail server go down again last night, around 11pm?

I was asked to re-enter my passwords on all three accounts, but I needed sleep more than I needed email so I left it until this morning, but it's OK again now.

 :dunno:

I did notice that I hadn't received any emails yesterday evening, but that's not really unusual for a Sunday night.

I only noticed because the Mac's OS decided to bring up some alert notifications this time- sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't  :dunno:

(Mail isn't Apple's best app, I think they use it to give apprentice programmers something to practice on :P)

I can't say I noticed an outage at that specific time but I think the mail server goes off-line quite regularly for short periods of time.

OK thanks, guess I just got lucky(?) this time and noticed it.
