Outlook Express Problem

Ok i have been on the phone to Idnet to set up a Idnet free email account.

I told the person what i wanted before the @ and i gave her the password i would use.

Set it up in Outlook Express with the correct pop3 and smtp settings but my password keeps being rejected.

Why

Incoming Mail Server (POP3): pop3.idnet.net
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.idnet.net

Any help or advice appreciated.

if it was a free email account (yourname@idnetfreemail.co.uk) you will need to make sure it is registered to the freemail domain not just idnet.co.uk for example

Now im confused.

All i done was call Idnet and asked for a free email account,was asked what i wanted before the @ and i was asked what my password would be.

Whats this about making sure its registered to the freemail domain not just the idnet.co.uk

well if u didnt specifically ask for a premium one the chances are you have a idnetfreemail.co.uk domain - try entering your address as ********@idnetfreemail.co.uk (* replaced by your chosen username)

Yep, so it`s just a free email account, for example, you need to enter idnetbarry@idnetfreemail.co.uk in OE properties along with the password. Incoming and outgoing servers are correct as you have stated so do one of two things, check you are entering the right data or ring CS to confirm that you are both on the same wavelength.

Will have to call Idnet on monday to get this sorted.

Can live without it for a day or 2,its not a big inconvenience.

Theres always Hotmail or Yahoo email to get by with.

Problem solved,feel abit daft really $:-\$

The POP3 account username should of been set to barry.richards.idnetfreemail.

I was just using barry.richards DOH $:-\$
