Good to see, with all the parts of the puzzle fitting together nicely now we should all be very proud of the team who provides us with such great service, and also expect a few glitches with such big changes as well, nothing ever goes smoothly first time I find in most computer and internet related situations. Well done to all concerned  ;D

I also think it would be good to promote IDNet, providing that the resources are in place to support a potential influx of new customers, and that the personal touch that we all find so reassuring, can remain in focus.

I agree simon but the dynamics of increased usage and that "personal" touch would eventually fade as it becomes almost impossible to achieve, its like the school class room, parents would love 5 children to 1 teacher but if that school got popular you would eventually have 35-1 and then its hard to look at everything in such a meticulous way as happens here now, but IDNet I imagine are here not only to be a great ISP but make money as all companies are, and that means increasing the customer base, and then call centers become the only option as you would never get through to support the way we do now, the phone lines would be jammed, and hiring IT specialists to help on a phone line is not cost effective or attractive to IT specialists either ::) so a few yes but if it took off like and became like the bigger ISP's then I doubt it.

I think the serious point to make here is that IDNet are well aware of what their customers expect, and what makes them loyal. I don't think they would jeopardise that relationship though, in time, the accessibility of the MDs may lessen.

I agree Rik and lets enjoy what we have without worrying to much about what's around the bend, unless your doing 140mph and that bend is a main road or course  :evilb:

I think that any attempt by us to inform others via ISPreview how we all feel about IDNet, would do nothing but harm in the long run.
You only have to read the uninformed/unresearched remarks by the woman moderator, to see what it would be like.  At the end of the day all you would achieve would be a 'Fanboy' label.

My opinion is that ISPreview lost a lot of it's credibility when it started recommending or otherwise.  Their whole site is geared to get users opinions, they should leave it at that.

If you feel you MUST post there, confine it to advising others to visit this IDNetters forum, and decide for themselves.

You make a good point, Mo. I have seeded the thread with a link to the forum. Simon's also set the record straight about Enta, so we'll hope that the rest flows from that.

To be honest having read through the that post on IDNet I would change my stance, tell them to come see our forum and how it operates and our views of our ISP, it seems that giving a glowing review will be seen as being a fanboy as MOHux said, the proof is not telling someone how good we feel our ISP is but to see how many problems are manifest each day, how they are dealt with how the MD's listen to ideas, and interject when needed as Simon did over there when people jumped on the possibility of trying to pull the carpet from under a few good reviews with misinformation, by watching the forum or better still joining and getting the friendly, almost family feel we have here, potential new users will get a better perspective and be able to ask questions themselves, it seems suspicion of seeding for glowing reports is a common problem, or perceived as one which in itself is a sad indictment of how people see genuine attempts at saying "hey it works and we like it" better to point them here and  say "see for yourself"  :)

Which is what Mo, in another incarnation :), has done, Gary. There is a real problem with us being labelled fanboys because we enthuse about IDNet, which is a shame, because those who label us thus are denying themselves the opportunity to enjoy the service we do.
