Who keeps re-arranging my desktop items?  Having 30+ items I arrange them in (to me  ;D) a logical order. Infrequently on reloading I find they have been re-arranged.  Why is this happening, can I stop it, if not, is there a way to save the arrangement so that I can easily get them back the way I want them?

It's a Windows thing. :( It happens, especially, if you use system restore I find.

Take a look at this for a variety of cures:

Not sure if it's mentioned in Rik's link, but there's a very simple solution, which I use myself, to be found here:-

Thanks for the help, I've used Simon's suggestion.  Of course I will only know if it works when and if my desktop icons get re-organised again. ;)

That's the great thing about Windows, we never know when we've cured a problem. ;)

Just for fun, save them, then mess them all about, and watch them magically restore at the click of a mouse!  ;)
