Ann

I can't deny it Rik, I have been known to have a drink in my time.  I don't get very drunk any more though, I just fall asleep  :-[

Rik

I can't drink at all these days, Ann, I'm allergic to/intolerant of alcohol. Life is cruel.  :'(

Here we go, I'm at work now.

Got home last night, NO DIAL TONE!!!

Phone not working, no internet.

Don't know if it's related to the transfer, although I can't see it - but I'm no engineer.

Got BT coming out this morning, to see what the problem is.

This has got to be worth it when I join you officially.

Just had a call from my wife, phone at home is now working - engineer fixed it at the exchange - so, maybe it was connected to the transfer.

Right 6pm tonight (take three!!)

Sorry no free drinks, but you can share some download usage, as there's little of October left.

Could well be related to the unbundling. :(

I have been charged and DD collected by IDNet since 5th October, so I assume I have bandwidth since then.

Edit: Markup sorted

Rik

If you have a word, I'm sure they will adjust your billing date to match your migration.

Ok, thanks for the advise Rik, I'll wait till I get home, just to make sure it's working, and there's no more pipex / BT mess ups.

I will send a polite Email to them asking about bandwidth, I don't want to appear to be complaining, as I appreciate all the work they've done and the ringing I've been doing.

After all, non of this has been down to them, but they've sorted it out.

Rik

They don't mind being asked about billing dates, honest. :)

I concur.  They amended mine to match my migration date with no problem.  :)

Not stupid, Simon, you just need more practice at getting inside my head. ;)

You make a good point - getting inside my head can damage your mental health. ;)

AT LAST!!

This time, no errors and FAST SPEEDS!

I'm impressed, only one thing I noticed is I dropped the line a couple of times, I assume I'm on a 7 day retraining period.

Speeds marked as:
8128down (amazing - never above 6.1 on pipex but only ever physically saw it in the night tiime.
832 up.

Simon

Bloody hell!!  Some of us dream of speeds like that!  If you have gone from Max to Max, I don't think the line will be retrained automatically, so keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't settle down, I'm sure someone will have some ideas.  :)

I was amazed to see speeds like that as well, I know pipex said 6.1, but that only ever happened from 1am  to about 6am on very well seeded files, I am only about 1/2 a mile from the exchange as well.

The redialing is happening about every 10-20 minutes, I remember it happened before, bear in mind I have also transfered my line from pipex homecall back to BT, so, I'm sure they're retraining.

I'll give it the 7 days first.

Lance

If you have come from LLU then I think you may have a 10 day line training period, but I wouldn't expect your line to drop many more times - it's not as if it can go any higher!

Congrats!
