I wonder if that's the Egyptian deity or the rowing club? :)

 ;D

He he.

'allo all.  First time in here and glad to see it's full of sane people.

Signed up with IDNet a week or so ago - very friendly on t'phone, connected within timescales advised  - and was wondering why I'm still only getting (or was) <2Meg.  Tried a couple of the tests linked to from these forums including the BT line check which reported an IP Profile of 2000 kbps which was reflected in the speed tests.

Went out for a Sunday afternoon stroll.

Gave the speed tests a kick upon my return and lo and behold:

;D ;D ;D

Probably coincidence as we are at the end of our 10 day line running in period (just) but I had expected to see some variance in speeds before then.

So that's it really, just wanted to say "Hi all" and brag a bit with the above and ta everso for IDNet getting us back online when Tiscali lost all interest in us when we moved house.

Pip pip for now

Hi Guy and welcome to the forum - have a karma. :)

Sounds like you had the classic 2Mbps stuck profile that BT love. It's now freed and you are floating up to where you belong. Tiscali - have you not read the forum's rules on bad language!!!  >:D

Keep posting, we need new blood ( :P :P) to keep all these nutters in order!!
As the only sane one I have to do it all myself at the moment.    ::)
