OK, a question?

When you put in a USB Flash Drive, normally a box pops up asking which programme you would like to open it.

Well mine doesn't... any ideas please ?

Pop the drive in, then find it in My Computer.  Right click it, choose Properties and you should find an Auto Play tab, which has some settings you can fiddle with.  :)

Go to my computer and select the usb drive right click and select properties, then autoplay and make sure "prompt me each time to choose action" radio button is selected. Be aware some software can stop it working like old versions of Real Player, or running Sonicstage etc at the same time as plugging the usb drive in. :)
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Thanks for help...didn't make any difference I'm afraid.  :'( :'(

Egg timer appears when I plug in memory card for a split second, then nothing.

Rik

What's on the stick? It may be that there's nothing for autoplay to work on?

You could try this, its an autoplay repair tool, but as Rik said if you have nothing on it that may be a reason :) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C680A7B6-E8FA-45C4-A171-1B389CFACDAD&displaylang=en

It has pics on it, it will open OK if I click on it from explorer, so nothing wrong with the card itself, it just doesn't Autoplay.

I will try the fix mentioned and then get back to you.

Ta muchly..  ;)

Rik

If you have access to another machine, it would be worth trying it there to establish whether it's a machine setup issue, or something to do with the file structure.

OK, installed the Microsoft Fix suggested by Gary ( Thanks )...nothing.

Tried card in another computer, Autoplay works fine.

Not the end of the world 'cos I can open card from explorer, just annoying that it don't work.

Rik

Do you have TweakUI installed? If so, take a look at the autoplay setup in there, it might give you a clue. What drive letter is the flashdrive using?

Or TweakUI:

It's a simple thing to fix - when we find out what it is we're trying to fix. ;)
