Indeed Simon, but is this all work on Clunker? Because that's not really sorting the issue at the end of the day and its reliability may be in question under load possibly :-\

What would be best in the long term is to have Trevor, the original server fixed, things may finally work as planned then, as it is getting to be annoying now for people who do not pay for idnet.co.uk email addresses. >:(

It isn't annoying me Gary, I only use the free IDNet.com for things that are not of any great importance.

The only thing that bugs me, as I have said before, is the Status Page not reflecting the situation accurately. ;)

Did I get the wrong impression that they are trying to get everything back on to Trevor?  I think it's understood that Clunker isn't as powerful as Trevor, which is why I thought they were trying to restore Trevor.

Simon.

As I understand it, they're trying to recover the data from Trevor to Clunker today. Then, I believe that Trevor is to be restored. I may, however, have the wrong end of the long wooden thingy. :)

True I use other email addresses as well Inactive, but from my point of view being with a new ISP just over a month, handing out new email addresses for friends only for them to fail is annoying. I know it will get fixed and Simon and Tim are more on the ball than most major ISP's which is great, but to find at the moment a continuing issue each day is starting to bug me a little to be honest :( The status page is a pain and there seems some disparity between pay for addresses and free ones here, Simon has said hopefully that will be changed soon, because as it stands it seems designed for business users, or people who pay for their email.

Fair enough Gary, it is unfortunate that this has happened as so many newish customers have joined up with IDNet, I have been here for 11 months and it is the first blip on an otherwise 100% service track record for me.

All e.mails go down from time to time, that is why I never depend on one.

I'm sure things will soon be sorted.

I have to say that I'm a little disappointed in the progress of this problem... I appreciate that Simon, Tim et al are working hard to restore the service, but I'd have expected a comparable server to be on hand to quickly swap in when a fault occurred- they're not that expensive, surely?

I'm also prepared to be proved wrong, of course...

Ditto, and the rest is telling me how I can " save the planet " by electing to have online statements..yeah right, no mention of the cost savings to the companies involved.  ::)

You can opt out of receiving unaddressed junk mail. From memory, you have to write to the PO.

I received real mail suggesting I should get a Motabiloity Car, just as I've paid out £225 for a high pressure hydraulic pipe for my Xantia.  Someone likes laughing at me. :-[ ;D

Sometimes in life things go wrong and machines are no exception. All we can ask or even expect is that whoever is required to act, does.  I think Simon and Tim are doing their best and thats all we can expect.
