Spam Filter

When we were first given the option of turning off the email spam filter, mail judged to be spam still had **SPAM** inserted into the Subject field. Since the weekend, this flag seems to have diminished to a single, or two asterisks, without the word 'SPAM' included. Is there a reason for this, and for why some 'spam' appears with one asterisk, and some with two? I had a good little filter set up in MailWasher to detect the **SPAM** flag, but this doesn't work now, and a single asterisk doesn't seem to register. Can we have the word SPAM back, please?

Might be worth checking the filter settings, Simon. Possibly, something got altered with the server switch.

I still get the tagging too. I guess the tagging is a part of the spam identification. The bit we turn off is the bit which knows what to do with emails with the tag.

Yes, I've always had the tag, with the spam filter switched off, but the tag used to say **SPAM**, now it's just * or * *. Maybe I'll turn it on and off again... ?

No, they are all different. Forgot to switch the spam filter on and off again last night, and am just off to work now, so will try to remember to do it later.
