The Devolo units get high praise, Gary. I haven't seen any reports on the Solwise.

I remember a Japanese company that said they could provide very fast broadband via your electrical lines and demonstrated it as well :)

Yup. I really do need to engage brain before fingers. Either that or one of you has to change username. Odd, but I haven't slipped up between Jill and Jillian yet, so I think it's the K which is the problem.  :(

I think I'd probably be condemned as too expensive to upgrade. :)

someone i know has them and says they are excellent.

Used all types and supplied friends and neighbours (all old thick-walled WiFi-hating housing round here) - never once had a problem.

Might be worth investing in the 85MB ones nowadays though unless all you're doing is sharing an ADSL line. The 14MB ones tend to give 10MB in the real world, the 85MBs give 50-60MB. YMMV.
Matt

ceci n'est pas un .sig

Kheldar

yeah the firend at work has the 85mb ones.
