So, presumably the stand alone AV would use even less resources than the suite, Gary?  I think maybe there was an issue with early or beta versions, but one would hope these would have been rectified for the final release.

Yes I would imagine so, I have never had issue with kaspersky and resources Simon, a lot of trouble happens when people don't follow the rules and wam everything up to max or don't run the cleaners for there old AV's properly or use beta releases posted by places like softpedia who post everything under the sun and a lot of betas of kaspersky are not completely tested and for beta testers to run on VM ware to test for bugs. I also use the Kaspersky removal tool to clean everything up for things like new maintenance packs before install then just retore up my settings from the saved config file  :) the release version 7.0.0.125 never caused me issues and I always wait for the release version, but you know some people like to jump in too early
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Have to say, one thing I did like about KIS was the saved settings.  Saves a hell of a lot of hassle when reinstalling or upgrading versions.

That is does, I have mine set to update every thirty minutes and it pretty much always gets new signatures as well as updates for all the other components like the heuristics etc
