Its flashy has all the bells and whistles but i don't trust the result.

I got 5700Kbps on it then did the Giganews http://www.giganews.com/performance.html test straight after and got 4335Kpbs.

The giganews results are nearer my usual speeds.

Maxping,
Just to throw a spanner in the works giganews gave me a result of 100k ten seconds later 5m at dslzone and 4.4.m with the bt tester a couple of mins later.

Its still reporting the highest test result here but to be honest they all move up and down each time you use them.

I think its best  not to do speed tests  ;D

ADSL Guide -- 4953.8 Kbps

Giganews -- 4562Kbps.

Speedtest -- 5441Kbps

I think the Giganews speedtester is congested ... too well known now I reckon ;)

I`ve always trusted a realtime download in any case, such as what you get here. Start downloading 100 megs, leave it for a few minutes then see what your realtime throughput is. Far more accurate I would say than downing a few kilobytes ;)

BTW, I like this new speedtester max! :)

I like the real time downloads over speed tests.

Have a look at this it will show a picture for a few seconds then give you info on your connection  ;)

You do know who owns this site m8 ;) Not that it`s a problem ... belongs to ADSLguide ;)

But it ain`t what I class as real time ... they sent me 1 meg ... nowhere near enough. Stick with Zen server and get a true realtime HTTP download.

Do as yer told!!  :police:

Thanks Guys!

Hours of fun presented here for us speed tester junkies.

Jeff

No probs, but I stopped doing `em regularly a long time ago ... got tired of worrying why I was losing 1kb/sec throughput in between the hours of 3:30am and 4:30 am ;)
