There are reports popping up that unless more work is done on bandwidth, by 2010 we are going to be experiencing near dial up speeds possibly $:-\$ the total cost to improve the infrastructure could be as high as £66bn. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7103426.stm

The big question, I guess, is who pays - ultimately it will be us, but who puts up the cash in the interim?

Well I can't see the government or the big ISP's doing it Rik or BT as this will scupper their 21st century network, and at a massive cost as well.

Well unless they hike the prices of broadband massively to th consumer which I can't see, all that can be done is throttling on a grand scale Rik
