I don't understand why you've posted your rig specs onto the forum?

Its the "my PC is better than your PC" game , you also see it in peoples sigs in game forums.

At the end of the day it doesn't do any harm but its not my thing , my theory is its not what you have its how you use it  ;D

lol ;) - anything with the word "Intel" on it is nothing to post about  ;D

I was wandering what this post was here for, I guess the my pc is better than yours is pretty stupid etc. Also dependant on what you use your pc for etc.

Almost as funny as fanboy attitude's  ;)

A man after my own heart  ;) ;D ;D

mrapoc

nah actually i havent got it yet - i was asking for feedback, NOT ABOUT THE INTEL THANK YOU  :D

I'm not sure about the fanboyism or the anti intel thing, but from what I've read and seen the intel core 2 duo's are very good. Better than AMD's out atm.  ???

That spec looks pretty good. I personally would go for a E6400 with a gigabyte DS3/Asus P5B Deluxe and some CAS4 6400 RAM (if poss micron chips, I've heard corsair use them so thats good :) or team xtreem).

Reasons (for a overclocker):
DS3= seems good mobo, no heatpipe allowing fitment of custom NB cooling. Mainly for fitment of a waterblock. (also there are already VDROOP etc mods)

E6400= pretty cheap only about £20 more than the 6300 but with a higher multiplier. Possible to get a overclock of 4Ghz on 500fsb (2ghz system bus ;D) or running the RAM at spec at 1:1 would be 3.2Ghz and the CPU is only £160

Altho I've heard some good things about the P5B Deluxe and also some great mods, just don't really like the idea of not being able to watercool it or replace the heatsink with something better.

A lot of people say the conroe's (E6600+) are better on i975 mobo's tho  ???

Also loads of people are waiting for the new nvidia chipset mobo's :) the current intel boards seem a bit picky with RAM and also still have a few bugs

I have recently built a E6300 system on a DS3 board, with 2Gb Geil PC6400 RAM.

All's well and I'm starting to overclock it gradually. Currently got the cpu to 2Ghz so far, from a stock 1.8  8).

I'm pretty new to overclocking so I'm taking my time.

Will buy a non-stock HSF for additional performance later when temps. get too high.

mrapoc

well erm ive changed my mind again - e6300 or e6400 (overclock!!) with a asus p5b deluxe (new bios allows up to 650mhz fsb but i doubt many will get there) with that tower 120 thingy to cool the cpu, powercolor x1900gt 256mb, enermax 580w modular, silverstone bj05 with window (no thermal thingy), ocx pc 6400 ram (2 x 1gb)

o yea u can fit watercooling as my friend has done to his  :) should be a worthy upgrade from my sempron 2600+ eh?

equk

you could wait a while for the new nvidia boards which fully support sli in 16x mode. I think the fsb settings and ram dividers are a lot better aswell.

eg: Asus P5N32-SLi SE Deluxe  ;D

well i could and prolly will (if i dont win a recent competition for some kingston hiperx ddr2 ram made specifically for p5b deluxe) but custompc reviewed a nvidia based c2d board and it stuck its middle finger up to overclocking...multiple gfx isnt really my thing as i dont see the point in less than 100% performance increase on something 100% more in price - and other than the money problem single cards perform well enough for me anyway  - idont want to rape benchmarks as im just a gamer  :P wanting to play his favourite game on a decent setting

just getting the next model up imo would be a better choice

equk

I'm thinking of going for a conroe E6400 build atm, but am waiting to see what new boards etc come out. I almost ordered a E6400 + DS3 etc a few days ago but didn't bother in the end.

My current sys is over 2years old :( (p4 2.8c@3.5ghz 1ghz FSB) still seems to run all the new games ok tho :)

rofl, ive decided thats gonna be the setup for me, overclocked it will alst about 5 years at least (prolly 8 years) by then it wont be able to run the latest os lol.

catmangler check out the core 2 duo overclocking thread on www.overclock3d.net - They will help u push it to the limit  ;)
