Thanks! and Hello! :)

I know what you mean.

Has anyone tried switching to OpenDNS? I don't want to right now - but it would be a useful diagnostic if someone could.

Using Opendns now and Google works (hurray!)... but facebook doesn't. Couldn't have happened at a worse time for me, just testing a web app I'm developing, added lots of temp debug alerts and now I can't get in to close em. oops.

Gary

All is back working as it should on IDNet DNS now
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Where is my welcome message Rik, lol :P

I don't think it was a DNS issue, we use OpenDNS here all the time and things certainly stopped working for us.

Switching HTTP over to another internet line with another ISP sorted the problem for us.

It looks like it was/is a routing problem.

Gary

I used Orange with my web browser on my N95 to get to google (http) and msn no problems at all, odd :-\

Message from Simon:

We had an iBGP config error where our routers weren't properly telling each other about the best routes they can see to some sites. This has now been fixed. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Sorry, Kevin, I'm having problems keeping up this morning. :)

The problems now resolved, I've just posted a message from Simon.

I'm having problems with some (US) sites as well.  :(

I'm also having problems with idnet.com customer login, account details and usage doesn't load.

Makes me think that the IDNet status page should not be something you have to log in to see.  Would be very useful to have a link to the network status page on their front page (or even on the front page of these forums).  Just a thought...

It didn't used to be on the accounts page, which is the only reason I knew. :)

I'm still in shock - no access to Google.

Isn't it time you came up with a better way to drum up new members, Rik?  These sabotage attempts are getting a bit much!

That's strange, Rik.  I can access google.co.uk and google.com.   ???

  :karmic:

It was something I mentioned to Simon - always brings a rush of fresh blood to the forum. That's why the problems only happen at weekends.

Mind you, less than an hour from first report to fix can't be a bad response for out of hours...
