Previously..i could see my laptop connected wirelessly via my pc and send/receive files...and vice versa. Now - i dont know whats happened but I cant see either! Cannot add a network place...no interaction at all. Plus same applies for uncle's laptop (on vista, others are on xp pro) - although it does see them in the network map just not connectable.

ESS has its firewall off but still nothing

Anything in 2700hgv to enable this?

Rik

Can your browse to the 2700 from the affected machines, Sam?

If you go to:

http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=J08&THISPAGE=A02_POST&NEXTPAGE=J08

Are the machines all listed with IP address, MAC address, idnetity and connection type?

I'm half wondering if this is a firewall thing...

All details there! Maybe this is a flaw with ESS? Even with firewall off it fails to allow me to find other computers? I remember "lanning" with the beta was a bit of a git to work.

Any other ideas before ESS says "Bye Bye"

Simon

Have you specifically allowed Network Browsing (or similar) and File and Printer Sharing in ESS?  Even with the firewall switched off, it may still continue with the current security level, rather than just letting everything through.  I think it's probably supposed to do that, to prevent anything malicious disabling the firewall.

sorry ESS but im not buying into this

anyone else have issues like this?

Simon

I did with F-Secure, but allowing everything like I said above, did actually work.
