Just got up and running with a quick learning curve  ::) holding at 6336kbs with noise at 6bd will see how it goes, had to resync just now as had cable hell but my netgear would not have synced so high at this time of night  ;D

I suspect that there must be as many members using the 2700's now as those that are not.

Keep us updated Gary, I am still using my Zyxel, which is fine on my line.

A piece of wet string would probably be fine on your line, In. ;)

Indeed Rik, tho' the Zyxel did show a slight improvement over my old BT 2100.

Both highly stable.

It would be quite interesting, given the quality of your line, to run a series of routers on it, and see how the compare. Shall we all come round with a router in hand? ;)

Well my line after I rebooted at night due to cable issues (had to sort them out) stayed at 5436 with a snr of 8db, that's unheard of my netgear went down to 3db or lower, big difference with this box, resynched this morning to 6144 manually and have a snr of 7db ;D brilliant on a line that has an attenuation of 48db, massive difference  ;D this really is an awesome router ;D

I have one question under the firewall there is strict udp session control, but it says that it may effect some applications, anyone with a 2wire using this setting?

I have had three cups already, disabled remote management in the firewall and left udp session control off, think this is right, it has a few more settings than my old Netgear  :banana2:

;D ;D ;D I have tried 3 different ones on it so far Rik, my Zyxel, a BT 2100 and a Talk Talk  :puke:( read Philips ) one, the Zyxel is the best of the three.

So we just need you to try a 2700 now. ;)

I really don't think that it would make a scrap of difference on my line Rik, I am sure I could squeeze a bit more out of it by cutting the redundant bell wires, but I am very happy with my existing speed, as I think most would be. ;)

I know, In, but we need a report from someone on a good line to complete the picture. :)

Indeed  :) if on a long line I can sync to start with at 7070 my netgear never got above 6700 on a good day (it will drop later I know) what would you get on a short line with this router I wonder :-\

I have a better idea Rik, have a word with Simon at IDNet, get them to test one on a good line. :solved:

I did think about it, but they have to buy them in large quantities, so it was a non-starter. :)
