Sad that, I think 2wire only sell in the tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands. More than IDNet could buy anyway, but ok for BT and AT&T

Gertcha, you wouldn't part company with it now Gary. ;D
Your right Inactive, it would be like getting blood out of a stone  ;)

I did think about it, but they have to buy them in large quantities, so it was a non-starter. :)

They can get one from eBay like the rest of you. ;)
Anything and everything that I post on here is purely my opinion, it ain't going to change the world, you are under no obligation to agree with me, it is purely my expressed opinion.

Or just monitor our line stats  ;D

I'm starting to feel jealous now.  I think I'm going to have to look at one of these in the new year.  Always a sucker for a new gadget!  ;D

I've had a consistently higher sync speed (400K) plus a more stable noise margin (9db +1/-4) since I installed it Simon. The firewall seems more effective than the Netgear one.

The only problem I've found is that I can't get Inactive off my second desktop - see below.  ;D

My problem is that the lights are on - but they are all low-energy ones!  ;D

Justina says mine are on but no one is home Rik, still on 7072 and that's after downloading windows updates and rebooting  :) :D

Does that not give you lots of uncorrected errors, and thus impact on throughput? I know it doesn't for everyone, but I used to get a lot of them (which adversely affected throughput) before I had BT manually set my target SNRM to 9dB. Now, the SNRM stays pretty solid through the day, and only falls to 8dB at night.

What causes you to get a 0dB SNRM anyway? Do you sync in the morning and it's degraded a lot come the evening?

What we need is a "forum 2700" for people to try and then pass on to the next member who would like to test.
I'll work on it ;D

Got my eye on a few, on ebay (still looking for one to play with) if i get a good one at a good price, i'd be happy to donate it ;D and people could test it for the cost of postage.

I have to say, with all the praise the 2Wire gets, I've always been keen to try it, but I don't need to spend the money on another router, and I can't imagine it would be any better than my ST 585v6 on my line.

:)

Ann

Be careful, this lot here are very good at encouraging people to spend money on new bits and bobs.  I would like to play with a 2Wire but they've put me off with all the techy talk.  It sounds too complicated to me.  This is a Good Thing as I really don't need to spend any more money.

Glenn

Ann, its simple to set up, you just need to follow these instructions http://bt2700hgv.tripod.com/ir1002700HGV.htm

Thanks.  I've bookmarked that URL and when I'm having a daft moment, I'll buy one and try it out.

As Glenn said , they are easy to set up. Loads of information , on here and other places. If you're patient they needn't cost too much either.
