Hi guys,

My adsl connection is supposed to be activated today at my new flat, by 6pm. Ive been in and out all day moving furniture but its not on yet, just popped round my parents house and plugged my phone number into the order tracker page on dslzoneuk.net and it comes up no adsl on this line and no open orders in BT system. Does this mean Im not gonna get activated toay? Should I phone idnet, or sit biting my nails for another 40 mins and urgin my router to connect lol?

Cheers

Mine was connected a few weeks ago, and I also had the 6pm deadline.  It actually came on about 6.45pm in the end, so don't panic if it doesn't happen on the dot of 6pm; if it hasn't happened by the end of the evening, you can then panic. ;)

Ok I'll panic just a little bit then  :P Its now 6pm, Im still at my parents, mmmmm free food, and still no adsl activated msg when checking my phone number, I may have to go a whole evening without internet access oh noooooes what am I gonna do without my daily WoW fix  :'(

I not sure what the BT system is like but it could take a while to update.

Does you router get an adsl signal when it is plugged.

Just hand in there I'm sure you will be connected soon. :)

Hey guys.

Well I think I just proved that BT really are the bunch of ******** that most people say they are. After several phone conversations with Miriam, very helpful person by the way  :) , I have found out today that my local BT exchange is at full capacity and BT have basically said that I will have to wait for someone else in my area to cancel their broadband connection for me to be connected >:(

That only really leaves me with one option which I hadnt really wanted to take up and that is NTL, so Im now making use of my parents internet connection to see what NTL can do for me and how quickly they can do it. Ive had no internet access now since 1st of september, god the withdrawal symptoms are baaad, if NTL can offer me a connection in under 7 days Im afraid I may have to take that as I can see this problem with BT going on for weeks.

How a company of their size and income cannot allow for spare capacity in an exchange is beyond me, but what really annoys me is that they didnt/wouldnt tell Miriam at IdNet the real reason for my lack of connection until today despite many calls by her to BT.

Cheers guys

Ach...I feel for you Andy ! But at least you have an alternate provider on hand. I'd a month on 56k dialup when I moved...now that's positively neolithic mate !!?

And the other 60 million of us too man!   ::)

Then again, they only make £136 per second profit, leave `em alone, eh? ;)
