Sure, its design isn't perfect, but I can tell it's damn good router.

It would soon finish up on the floor Sebby, my router is located under my curtains.. it wouldn't be stable enough.

TBH .. I think it is one huge ugly beast.

Sorry if my views differ to those of you that are happy with your 2700, I am in a different position to all of you, I have a good line, I don't need the 2700, my Zyxel does a fantastic job, and is tiny in comparison.

The results for me (poor line) have been little short of miraculous, In, so it would be nice to see if it does offer anything on a good line...

Ah, well that's fair enough, In. For me, it's increased my sync by 300k, and the noise margin seems to be even more rock solid than the SpeedTouch. In fact, it's currently showing at 16dB; the SpeedTouch would probably be on about 13.5dB now. For my reasonably long line, I can see that this really is going to help, but I can see why you're not so keen.

Its no bigger than the dg834pn Inactive its because it has multiple aerials inside it for the wifi, you can get the stands separate, ill try and  find you the link, I thought it was big, but on my desk it looks great believe me  :)

It may not be bigger than a Netgear Gary, I don't have one, it is at least twice the volume size of my Zyxel and/or BT Voyager.

As it is clearly designed to be vertically mounted, I still think that it should have come with the supplied stand, but I am probably being too fussy..  ;D

Actually, I would have said it's about three times the size of a Netgear DG834... It definitely is designed to be used vertically, and runs cooler that way.

Oh well, had a play, nothing..zilch. no surprise there.

DSL Light just flashes away, no connection.

I note that the 20 digit code that should start 52EU will not accept it, it reverts to 52AN, it accepts the rest of the code tho'

:(  oh well.

I have been OK with my Zyxel, my BT Voyager and even a Talk Talk Modem Router, but this one has me beat, probably a dud knowing my luck.
is it a sbc firmware model or an dual ssid Inactive? as i said the dg834PN was huge with a blue flashing dome on it! admittedly the little DG834G i had was tiny but didn't perform like this. This looks fine now im used to it and the firewall is fantastic as well, in fact it looks quite modern I just had to move stuff about and I am more than happy with this router, its better than any router I have had. Don't use the normal set up routine i'll pm you what you need to do if it will help ;D

I didn't do anything with that code. I literally switched it on, went into Internet Explorer then the 2Wire prompted me to set a password. After that, I was able to just set it up manually via the web interface.

I only followed the instructions from Digidave's help site to the letter, bloody typical.

Nothing...Zilch...flashing lights, very pretty, save me buying a Christmas Tree I suppose. ::)

Thanks for your help everyone, it looks like this ornament may be going back to Jersey.

Correct on both counts Rik, not a happy bunny.

Just the router and the plug in adapter, with a copy of invoice.

Obviously not from DodgyDave then Rik.

It would be interesting to know if anyone has had one from DodgyDave that hasn't had a fault, I recall Sebby saying his has a fault, tho' his does work.
